Chemistry is a branch of science that examines the events we encounter in our environment and in all areas of life. Chemistry is a science based on observations and includes a thought process that requires a systematic approach. The chemistry course is based on practice, allows students to use the knowledge they have learned in real life, and aims to raise students who research and question. Our goal is for the student to understand this thought process rather than memorizing facts. When solving problems, instead of using theoretical knowledge by memorizing, a step-by-step and logical approach is tried to be placed. Chemistry courses enable students to develop their intellectual knowledge and to understand science, natural and artificial resources more effectively.
Students in chemistry course;
• to use the lab actively,
• ability to read chemicals correctly,
• to understand the emergence, development process, nature of scientific knowledge and the importance of using scientific knowledge in accordance with ethical values,
• to be able to recognize the positive aspects of chemical technologies that reflect on humanity and life when used correctly, and the negative aspects that small mistakes can cause,
• to understand the relationship between science, technology and society and how these elements affect each other,
• to recognize the occupational groups associated with the science of chemistry,
• to do research,
• learning to find solutions that can benefit all living things and our world, to produce new ideas and to do original work.
