One of the missions of TED Schools is to provide high quality foreign language education in a world where the importance of knowing a foreign language for communication is increasing day by day. In this context, TED K12 English Lesson Curriculum, which was prepared in order to ensure the standardization of foreign language education and to develop it at an international level in TED Schools and approved by the Board of Education and Discipline of the Ministry of National Education, is implemented.
Considering the changing student profile and needs, practices that improve 21st century skills in English language education are included in the program, and continuous guidance and in-service training support is provided to English teachers at our schools through training with Cambridge English, International House and Oxford Teachers Academy.
Within the scope of our foreign language teaching program, which aims to make students use a language in accordance with their age and skill levels, studies are carried out to improve our students' ability to make decisions, solve problems, research, develop, question, explore and analyze by using information meaningfully and evaluation is allowed.
Our main purpose in language education is to arouse love, desire and curiosity in our children about the target language. It is essential to develop verbal skills in language education in our early age students and primary school classes.
Foreign language education in TED Schools Secondary and High School Departments is planned to be student-centered and to develop listening-speaking-reading and writing skills. Students have the opportunity to express themselves and to use the foreign language in different environments. Considering that students have different learning strategies, different teaching techniques are used.
SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE
In the Second Foreign Language program, our students choose one of the foreign languages offered by our school and their second foreign language education is carried out with the communicative curriculum.
In TED Schools, it is aimed that students can easily read, write, understand the texts in a second foreign language, and understand what they read, as well as learn the language at a level that can express themselves on current issues and subjects of their interest.
